Nina Allen Freeman Fine Art

Artist Statement & Biography

The daily mystery of putting paint to paper brings joy into my life. Nina Allen Freeman

Always interested in art throughout school, I studied studio art at Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida and graduated in 1966. Upon graduation, I quickly learned I needed a job, and these being "the Great Society" years, I got a job as a Social Worker. I Liked it and eventually went back to FSU and earned a Master of Social Work Degree, and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I retired in 2000 and now am into a second career as a water media artist.

I started painting again by taking a class from Joe McFadden locally and taking workshops from professional watercolorists whenever I could. I have learned from many; Marilyn Hughey Phillis, Mary Alice Braukman, Virginia Cobb, Don Andrews, Miles Batt and Kathleen Conover.

I have been teaching watercolor classes and workshops in the Tallahassee area since 2000 and currently teach at Brush & Palette Studio, Tallahassee, FL.
